Blog post two: a problem I managed to voercome
The lesson just like any other school day except it was one of my most dreaded lessons in the school- Home economics …. I think it’s terrifying simply because I dislike and am not proficient at cooking. In fact, I’m terrible at it.
So, today we were baking Queen Cake or what I like to call mini muffins. It was mortifying as I had never even laid my eyes on kitchen equipment ever since after last year’s economics and I was in full panic mode. Can you imagine the sheer terror of not being able to do anything? Well, I can. Yes, you can say that I am a spoiled brat, not helping out at all in the kitchen…..At least I can make magi noodles though. :D
And thus started the lesson, the teacher was droning on and on about adding this to that, blending this to that. I looked nervously at my partner. Soon we started on our baking. I assigned my partner the job of mixing the eggs as I was scared of breaking the egg shells into the mix. I looked mindlessly at the mixer and the scattered ingredients…How was I going to survive this? Hearing the teacher scold a guy for forgetting to bring his apron demoralized me even more, if that were possible. I cautiously placed the butter and sugar into the bowl and started mixing. It did not go well at first. I lifted up the bowl while it was mixing and some of it splattered near the table.
